We caught an early morning train from Basel to Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland. It was chilly and wet when we got there, although blue skies over the alps in the distance held some promise for improved weather later in the day. We walked through a pretty impressive shopping precinct. All the exclusive designer stores were there, with stern looking guys in suits standing at the doors in order to stop any riff raff from entering their precious emporiums. We priced some of the gear on sale. The Louis Vuiton outfit in the photo here came in at just a touch under ten thousand Australian dollars! And to be honest, you wouldn’t be seen dead in it, would you!
We had a train to catch just after 11am to Arth-Goldau at the foot of the Rigi mountain, so our time in Zurich was little more than a couple of hours, but I’m glad we had a chance to see it.
HAHAHAHAHAHA Dad!
