Rod, Cornelia, Marg and I decided to take a 90-minute canal cruise on our first night together in Amsterdam. It was raining lightly when we began. By midway through the journey, it was coming down quite heavily. Marg and Cornie sat at tables and listened to the recorded commentary. Rod and I went to the stern of the boat with our cameras, hoping to grab a few photos of Amsterdam at night. It was cold out there on the open deck, and quite wet.
We stayed outside until we’d seen much of the old parts of Amsterdam and managed to shoot a few half decent handheld night shots. By then, I’d had enough of the rain, so I returned to my seat under cover for the rest of the voyage. You can see some of my Amsterdam night photos on this blog post.
My only informative comment on this post is as follows: There’s a LOT of canals in Amsterdam. We had a great time, nevertheless.
