We arrived late at Artisans of Angkor at the end of a long, hot day exploring the Angkor temples. Many of the artisans had packed up and left for the day, but we were able to get a quick tour through the workshops and see a few of them still working. This business has trained people from nearby villages in traditional Khmer crafts which include painting, lacquer work, wood and stone carving and metalwork. The products they create are quite beautiful and all of the work is of a high quality. Workers in the painting workshops are hearing and speech disabled. Large posters on the workshop walls contain images of the sign language they communicate with.
